Come check out the food, live music, and our favorite events--the "beer quaffing" and the bonfire. Tix are $10 at the door (proceeds benefit Friends of the Avalanche Center), but the fi...rst person to tell us the Latin name for "Tourist" from our winter 08-09 Field Guide to Local Shredders gets a pair (we'll call and put you and your guest's names on the list).Read More

Moira Keshishian is our big-1,000 winner! I haven't seen Moira in months, but a few years ago, we were both part of a large group of friends who went to Africa together. (The attached pic is our guides holding a copy of Outside Bozeman on the summit of Kilimanjaro.) And now she pops up as our 1,000th fan, how about tha...t. Well done, Moira; stop by the mag office and take your pick from the O/B treasure chest. Thanks to all our 999 other fans for making this page so popular! We'll be sure to keep giving stuff away, so stay tuned in. Oh, and Happy Halloween! -MikeRead More

Outside Bozeman Who needs a pup? One of our occasional office dogs, Roxy, needs a home. She's the standard Bozeman black lab -- cute, sweet, not real smart, loves to go hiking, fishing, etc. She's currently staying with an O/B staff's sibling, while she awaits a new master. Let us know if you'd like to meet her (she's on the right in the photo below). -Mike

Kelly, I tried to send you a message this morning to let you know that Roxy is doing great, but through some FB glitch, I don't think it was ever sent. Anyway, she had a good night and she seems to like it here with us!

Only a couple more days of geocaching left! Get out and find those last few caches, we'll be pulling them sometime after midnight on Saturday. That is, if we can get our hungover butts out of bed Sunday morning and drum up the energy to dig through all this snow. We'll consider it avalanche-rescue practice. Thanks e...veryone for playing, hope you all had fun. We'll post winners sometime next week. -Mike

Should make it a subscriber service. You pay a monthly fee for an area, the fee funds the local S&R. Helps keep S&R groups up and running and it may prevent people who dont have the money to pay for it from thinking that if they have it, they can do things that they are ill prepared for (and on a side not if they do, nobody will ever know about it, Darwin at its finest)
