The NC Institute for Early Childhood Professional Development (Institute) has certified over 6,500 Early Educators thanks to funding from our various partners and fee-paying applicants. Spread the word! The NC Division of Child Development(DCD) has provided a grant to expand the Early Educator Certification (EEC) syste...m and provide free certification to 9,000 additional applicants on a first come, first serve basis. Who is eligible to get certified for free? This grant is open to individuals employed at facilities licensed by DCD who hold one of the following positions: TeacherAssistant TeacherSchoolage Group LeaderDirector/AdministratorAssistant DirectorFloaterEducation CoordinatorFamily Child Care Provider How can you help NC take the next step toward professionalizing the early childhood workforce? Encourage your friends and co-workers in the field of early childhood education to get certified! While only some people may be eligible for free certification, all individuals working directly with or on behalf of children ages birth to twelve are eligible to apply for EEC.
