In order to make the playoffs this season, we have to do one thing--win out. It starts with a good Shiloh team Friday and then our archrivals down the street.
Today's practice was the best we have had since I came on board last spring. The intensity level was up on both sides of the ball and all of a sudden things seem to click in the players minds.
Just when you think it might not matter as much to high school kids as it does to us coaches, they find a way to shock us.
Friday night. Senior night. Our last home game of the season regardless. Panther Nation, come out in force and cheer our Panthers on!

It's amazing how fans/players/community become so acclimated to success that blame gets placed blindly, fingers point, etc. but that is why I love coaching/working at Parkview. Support here is unbelievable! Times aren't as good as any of us would like them to be, but many programs would love the chance to be 4-4 at this point with a shot at the playoffs still in their own hands. Had we scored a single TD more in each game we have lost, we would be 8-0. Unfortunately, the learning going on right now is bitter, but no one inside our locker room or coaching office is satisfied. The rewards will be reaped again very soon. In two weeks, we have the chance to prove we are the best 4-4 team in GA. Senior night at the Big Orange Jungle against a good Shiloh football team... No looking forward, no looking back. So I ask you this Panther Nation, do you believe? We do!
We are in a position to do something that has never been done at Parkview! Win the hard way...but it is still winning. It takes everyone...we don't have the numbers of the past or the size of the past, we do have speed and quickness on our side. To play fast, you have to practice fast! Otherwise, what you are practicing is not what you will be doing on Friday night! On Friday nights, we have to adjust on the run, adapt to how people are defending us and from time to time, turn a busted play into a big play!
Unfortunately, you have to practice at break neck speed to learn how to play at that level of discomfort...right now we only want to do what is comfortable and easy. Tomorrow is Wednesday and will need to be a whole lot better! The skills we worked on today do not translate into game situations...they are from a team trying to still find it's way.
The good thing about it...tomorrow is another day and we get a second chance! We have to take advantage of the fact the sun comes up and the page turns, learn and move forward!
