Most of the local PMI chapters have PMP study groups. They're usually free.
As far as PMP training classes are concerned, I usually recommend to people that they should start their training on their own with study guides and a with a good (not cheap or free) sample exam question test bank (minimum 500 questions; 2,000 or more is even better -- you ... See Moredon't want to keep practicing the same questions over and over again). If, after two months of study you find that you are scoring less than 70% on your sample practice exams, then look into a training class. Make sure you schedule your exam for 1 - 4 days after the class to make sure the material is fresh on your mind when you take the exam.
