Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) 2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity! In anticipation of the year ahead, read this fascinating article celebrating "Other Life Forms" by the New York Times.

It's a good time to remember not only the remarkable variety of living things, but our dependence on the ones we don't even know about.

Olivia Judson is a really interesting writer and posts some of the best blog entries for the NY Times. She works in a nice reference to the great Aldo Leopold, challenging us to get to know the world around us lest we stop caring when different life forms begin to disappear.

I love walking on this road. Since there are so few cars that use it, it's almost as if it were a trail. Great place for a romantic stroll or for pushing a stroller!
