The House health care reform bill passed with a steep price. The Senate should work to preserve a woman’s right to abortion services.

Mark I'm disgusted with Judy Biggert (IL-13). She's claimed for years to be pro choice but when she finally has a chance to prove it she voted for the Stupak amendment. I hope PPH takes note and stops supporting this hypocrite.

Calls, calls calls!

For those who voted AGAINST the Stupak amendment, please thank them for their vote and urge them weigh in with leadership to make sure this amendment is removed in the conference process.

For those who voted FOR the Stupak amendment, please express dismay that they voted to ban abortion in health care reform and turn back the clock on women’s health.

Don't rush this law without help for girls Comments November 4, 2009Imagine you are a 17-year-old girl looking to get an abortion. You've made up your mind but fear telling your p...arents. It could mean getting kicked out of your home, beaten up or worse. A new state law says parents must be notified -- but there is a way around it if a teen can convince a judge she's mature enough to make the decision or that telling her parents could put her in danger. This page thinks parents should be involved in such a big decision. But if a teen cannot tell her parents, she must have a way out.Read More

Given that we elect (or "vote to retain judges") in this state, what are the options for a young woman in a county that has a conservative judiciary. Or worse, a judge up for retention that will make their decision to satisfy their own self-preservation on the court? Additionally, we suddenly have an "on the record" litmus test for elevation in the judiciary hierarchy. An eralier post from PPIL had it right - you cannot mandate healthy family communication. This whole law is bad.

Desiree

Desiree Hi,
I'm an intern at Planned Parenthood of North Florida and I'm working on creating a facebook page for the affiliate. I love this page and I was wondering how you added the "all access" box with the "my method" "the check" and "locate"? I'd like to figure out how to incorporate it into our page. Thanks!
