I just read Gretchen's obit in the Morning News and I was also saddened. A wonderful artist and a supporter of women's rights to healthcare, espcially those who can't afford it. She was taken way too soon!

I was a college student, almost 19 years old - very old by today's standards - and didn't have the courage to ask my mom to take me to see a gynecologist. But I wanted to be prepared for the time when I would become sexually active. Having been raised in a ... Read Moreconservative Southern Baptist church, part of me thought I would remain a virgin until I was married, but another part of me thought that college offered a lot of other options, or temptations, as my old hellfire and damnation preaching pastor would have called them. Planned Parenthood was there for me, offering counseling, medical care, and no judgment about the morality of the choice I was considering. I for one will always be grateful for Planned Parenthood, and hope they can continue to "be there" for young women today and for many years to come.

As her guest says, it's a real shame that law enforcement personnel don't always seem to take this type of crime seriously. I wonder whether they would feel differently about the "protesters" if it was THEIR wife or sister who needed these services. PPNT posted ... Read Moreanother link previously that included stories from clinics who had provided abortions to the same women who had protested previously, and without exception, each one of those women expressed the opinion that circumstances were different for them than for the "other" patients, and they all seemed to feel that they were more justified in seeking abortion than others. Such hypocrisy, and disdain for others who have faced difficult circumstances and made difficult decisions.

This is the real issue. Abortion will not stop just because some group of people says it's "illegal." Abortion has always been with us, and always will be. The question is, will it be safe and survivable, or will be responsible for the deaths of thousands of women?

So true...never an issue until the AMA made it an issue in the early 1900's (for profit). Used to be something people did to survive and feed the kids they did have. That it has come to be what it is now makes me, well PRO-CHOICE. Pro-Lifers should be ashamed of themselves if they agree with Tiller's murder.
