PUMPKIN Do you go to shows? This one's been in the making for a while.

Earlier, Alex said "Dan Deacon's last show was at" (some place on Tulane's campus, some auditorium), "and it was packed." This one is at The Big Top, which is not an auditorium, and will probably be more full as a result of the decrease in volume in the x an...d z axes of the venue.

Dan Deacon doesn't really need to have much more publicity to get his fans to go to his shows, especially from this Facebook.com event page. Just look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owCweAH6eME All of these people are going NUTS. There isn't really even much going on musically when they start pumping fists and wearing aviator sunglasses, but I guess they're excited for what's to come.

Do you think someone will crowd surf when he plays this song called "Crystal Cat" at The Big Top? There's enough room, and I want you all to experience what it's like to be at Lollapalooza circa 1994 if you were too young for it then, but remember: The Big Top is an art gallery. The dude from Japanther broke a huge mirror when he pitched a fit at one of their shows there, so be careful. Don't pitch too big of a fit if you pitch one while Dan Deacon plays, because certain artists and the art community at large might be really pissed at a lot of people if something gets broken.

The other Facebook.com events for this tour, for the Dan Deacon / Nuclear Power Pants tour, kind of ignore Nuclear Power Pants for some reason, as if they didn't have time to address that band, and anyway, who cares, right? They're not Dan Deacon. And they're not, but they're still a touring band that you're paying for, even if you're going to squat on a stoop and drink a 40. There aren't too many stoops around The Big Top, so you might want to camp one. Pee on it if you have to, because without a place in this world to call our own, we may as well fully embrace the lupine spirits that course through our being. I'm a wolf, you're a wolf, but there's no elk to hunt. Just some bands to see.

So I did the research for you, in case you haven't heard of Nuclear Power Pants. Some guy wrote a review about their most recent album, "Wicked Eats the Warrior," which I read the first two sentences of, and will present to you in the following paragraph.

It starts with "Their live shows are absurdist carnival freakshows from the surreal and paranoid tail-end of an acid binge. The spectacle, when you are experiencing it, makes the music feel ancillary." Though the guy could have put his thesaurus aside while writing this review and said "SECONDARY" instead of "ancillary," this isn't what I'm really here to point out, friends. I haven't even listened to this band, and I can tell you this, from that article: THIS IS A BAND THAT YOU HAVE TO SEE LIVE. Their music is not the main reason you see them, it's because you like acid, and your probation officer is on your tail. The fact that somebody at this show might have acid doesn't cross your mind, because all that you think about is that article you read by Greg Szeto about Nuclear Power Pants' transmutation of the basics of LSD into a live performance.

You can read about that band (as well as Dan Deacon) on the Internet, and even listen to their music. They're the first result on a Google.com search, then the rest are hilarious epundits talking about George W Bush like 2 years ago.

This is going to be a Pumpkin reunion show. We're from here. We play punk music, though Mike plays a Moog sometimes, and there is a video projected onto a screen behind us that is roughly synchronized to our music. Recommended for fans of Dilbert, The Dilbert Animated Series, Office Space, The Office (UK), The Office (US) seasons 1-3 and season 6, Frederic Chopin, Diet Barq's Root Beer, the years 2004-2006, Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, Bauhaus, The No-Good Flies, THE FASHION (from Luling), Raise High The Roof Beam (from Luling), Halfway to ZEN, that band Mason Vial & Tommy Rousse were in when they were 15 or whatever, Toast Breads/Beards, The New Orleans Football Saints, The LSU Student Union, most ska bands from the 1990s, The Empire from Star Wars, Star Wars, Rome, and The Great Roman Empire.

This show was brought to you by An Idea Like No Other.

FIVE BUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PUMPKIN This. Did you go to arcades as a kid? An empty arcade had nothing but the screams from The Simpsons game's demo mode and this from the abandoned Daytona USA machine. "Daytona USA" by Pumpkin is a spiritual descendent from the original.

Composed by Takenobu Mitsuyoshi he composed all the music in this game, he also made the vocals, it was something rare in 1993
