Word has it KT is still keeping his keen eye on the baseball world, enjoying some extra time with his beautiful wife, and recently took in a USD Toreros basketball game with his buddy, Buddy Black. There was some speculation in the UT he may be the next GM for Texas.

Moving Adrian would be a mistake, sure his hitting could be replaced in a trade but his Gold Glove and his local leadership in the community are irreplaceable.

Opposing teams hit only .246 here so only marginally better
Hitting is clearly suppressed here

The Pads hit 66 HR and Opposing Teams hit 70
Again only marginally better"

"we have scored 829 more runs away than at home since the park was built. 66o more hits, 229 doubles, and 107 homers.

Not counting the triple, the padres have not done better at home in any major offensive category since moving to petco. That includes runs, hits, doubles, homers, batting average, OBP, SLG, OPS, and extra base hits.

the padres have been in 30th place(dead last in the majors) in one of those statistical categories at home 21 times over the last 4 years. 29th place 6 times, 28th 5 times, and in the bottom five 6 other times. the padres have never placed better than 17th in any statistical category at home since 04.

Guess how many times the padres have placed in the bottom 5 away from petco since 04 in any offensive statistical category? never.......

Away the padres have place 1st in 5 categories and in the top ten 20 times not including the five 1st places."

"AT HOME RUNS SCORED:
2004: 3299(28TH) 2005: 308(25TH) 2006: 315(30TH) 2007: 323(30TH) 2008:289(30TH)
AT HOME EXTRA BASE HITS:
2004: 213(26TH) 2005:193(30TH) 2006: 215(30TH) 2007: 217(25TH) 2008: 198(29TH)

AWAY RUNS SCORED:
2004: 439(6TH) 2005: 376(10TH) 2006: 416(7TH) 2007: 418(6TH) 2008: 348(21TH)
AWAY EXTRA BASE HITS:
2004: 262(14TH) 2005: 245(16TH) 2006: 282(6TH) 2007: 307(1ST) 2008: 247(14TH)

The Padres have scored 433 more runs on the road than at home. They have also had 307 more extra base hits."

THE STATISTICS prove THAT IT IS THE HARDEST PARK TO HIT IN . If the pitcher can only win in Pet Co park he will NOT be as successful when he leaves town . But if you have a Fair park you will NEVER BE AT A DISADVANTAGE ON THE ROAD nor at home, produce more exiting games which most FANS want to see.

The argument is not for a ban box VS a pitchers park.. there argument is in favor of a fair park where a good pitcher wins and bad pitcher doesn't and a good hitter will preform as a good hitter .SAME FOR A PITCHER. In Pet CO a good hitter can NOT be at his best at Pet CO look at the stats 15 homers for Adrian 5 away.. what would he do in a fair park? Resulting in players trying to alter their swings on the road VS. home, that can never be good!

No doubt that the line up is NOT good enough and we do NOT have players to implement the hitting coaches philosophy but statistically since the park open look at the splits ITS DRAMATIC!!!!!!!!

I don't think its a good thing for a very good hitter for him to be held back its not fair. Lets make it fair NOT A BAN BOX just fair! This is NOT a big advantage look at the stats man... since we opened in our playoff years had one of the best offensive productions on the road and one of the worst if not the very worst at home! that should speaks volumes!!! ITS NOT JUST THE DIMENSIONS It flat out does not carry to right and RC at all.

When your hitting coach said "keep the ball out of the air in Pet Co " that speaks volumes! "Jim Lefevre"

Gonzo's stats home and away 2009
Home AVG .244/ HR 14/ 36
Away AVG .306/ HR 28/ 63
