I use to go almost every night, I only lived a few blocks away. It was a shame when they took it down and built ugly condo's, they should have left it alone.
There was nothing better than the vinegar fries.

Miriam Kotsonis The original carousel is up in the Paramount Amusement Park north of Toronto. I took my kids to visit it. Still has the strange paintings, but only one original horse, because they are so valuable. The amusement park was one of the greatest delights of summertime, as well as the end-of-school parade with free park tick...ets, for which we wore beanies and our school colors. I keep a turn-of-the-century (repro) poster in my office to keep the spirit alive.

Maria Monllor The most wonderful memories of my childhood. Just loved it. Wish I could just go back in time.

Marty The Cyclone resides in a small amuesment park in Central Pennsylania but I think it closed a couple of years ago

Scott Spencer-Wolff Wow - remember really happy family outings (that would be on the rare occasion my family was "really happy") to the park in the 60's. What a totally cool place. And I Iost my roller-coaster virginity to THE CYCLONE. Few have measured up since!

been reading all your memories...brought back my own..
thanks........

Pierce Haviland I remember going to the park in the 60s and waiting to get a front seat on the Cyclone. In 1970, a rock group from Hakensack called Filet of Soul performed there. Some of the guys from the group went to Luther College in Teaneck. It was hard to believe that the park would be closed the following year.

Russell J Moore i have 2 of the original shooting gallery ducks, i was very young when it burned down but i remember watching it, it was always a good point to tell people where i was from...i will tell people i am from edgewater nj and when they get a puzzled look on their face i say the little town between the gw bridge and palisades amusement park...

Nora Roehr I worked at thje souveneir stand across from the carousel selling punch baloons, monkeys and cupid dolls on a stick and palisades hats with your name sown on. seven of my siblings worked in the park cotten candy guess your weight etc. Lived in Union City and rode two buses to get to work. approximately 1968-71 $1.00 an... hour for Peg Maleck. My breaks were fun free rides, food and excitement. Was there on the morning before the park opened when Jackie Onasis had a birthdyay party for John John at the penny aecade. Great memories thanks for bringing them back!!

Robert P. Russo This was a great family fun park back in the days....I remember getting there early in the morning and spending all day......in fact, it was on the Boomerang, that I lost it and since that time never road that ride or for that fact any other spinning ride ever again.....
