We were one of the vendors and one of the sponsors of the National Convention. We would like to thank the Florida PTA for doing such a great job. We would also like to thank everyone for the fantastic reception we got from every level of the PTA. We would like to thanks everyone who stopped by our booth. You were all amazing people and we look forward to working with the PTA in the future.

we need to continually scream these important issues from our roof tops

Carlos at 4:36am June 28
We have plenty of solid, clear and by the way national standards in mathematics. The solution is not more standards but teaching them better and with the understanding that not all students want or should go to college. Our best students (without our social ills) already perform as well as those students from the top scoring nations. It is when ... Read Morewe include those students marginalized by societal woes (out of our scope) that our scores go down. In reality, the solution is not in rewriting standards or higher teacher pay (to follow); the solution lies (at the academic level) in revamping our secondary programs to include solid vocational training, early identification of a career path, quality student vocational counseling and alternatives for after school enrichment.

I completely agree James.....in middle school kids need alot of support. I am seeing that here in Richland, WA. Parents spend alot of time focusing on elementary school and then the hogh school focus is on kids geting the grades in order for college. I think middle schoolers get left out...or at least that is what I have been experiencing. More dads please come out and help! Would be great for those withe single moms to have positive male role models for their kids too. I am a single mom.

NO they are not the same.. many differences actually...check them out on google...way too many to list here.
Chrisi at 6:04pm June 17
The biggest difference is this... PTA speaks for ALL CHILDREN, a PTO speaks only for the children in their school. PTA's voice is much larger and can do much more good for children.

We have a drop in child care at our agency. One little girl who met a little boy there for the first time, walked up to him while pushing the pretend baby stroller, put her arm around him and said "this is my baby daddy". We were left a bit speechless.

several preschool children (3-4 years ) had witnessed the birthing experience, and were re-enacting what they had seen and heard. all of it! I explained to the teacher that, My concern at that time was for the children who had not .... My opinion was not meant to detract from the importance of violence in teen dating, or violence in any form (... Read Morethe elderly,animals.... I agreed that being informed and sharing information is very important, and I support the study to ensure all teens (persons) are aware that it happens. Yet, we must prepare our young people, and understand that it begins earlierthen the teen years. As Kindergarteners, and elementary"(Tweenies") 8-11 yrs old begin to participate in things earlier than their years dictate. In the right forum, underthe right conditions; Knowledge is Powerful. And that's the truth.
