Parenting.com "Inspired by a South Park
episode about beating up kids with red hair and freckles, several beatings took
place at schools across the country on Friday, and a 12-year-old boy in
our area was one of them." One reader's horrifying account of schoolyard violence organized via social media:

When he was dropped off at school last Friday, a group of kids laid in waiting for him. His dad was no sooner out of the parking lot before they starting chasing him – he was kicked in the groin and taken down. As he lay on the concrete ground at school, 15 of his peers, some of them classmates, su...

Parents need to make sure that their kids are supervised at the store.I've seen way too many parents buy a game and then hand it to their kids, or don't take it off their kids after they buy the games themselves.

stretches of your pregnancies? How did you go with the flow?"

The doctor said that she’s fairly confident I have developed what’s called ICP. Do not Google this. It was too late for me -- I’d Googled about the itchiness and read all about "fetal demise" and the like. So I most definitely freaked out there on the spot.

I was put on complete bed rest for pre-eclampsia for the last two months of my pregnancy. First thing is to STOP READING what you find about it. You live in the western world and chances are your child will be delivered safely. I stopped reading development books, and focused on spending the last few months of my pregnancy with my husband. It is hard not to worry, but I found worrying made it that much worse.

I had a high risk pregnancy because I wa 44 years old. I had every test they could think of but everything came back normal. At 20 weeks I was put in the hospital with bleeding from placenta previa. 34 year old mom of two here and I love it as well. I was there at midnight Thursday night with 4 of my 30-something twi-hard friends, all in our Twi-themed t-shirts. We had a blast! New Moon was awesome - way better than Twilight - IMO. I'll be going back tomorrow with my 13 year old daughter. :)

jenn - way to go! :)
"part of the childhood experience"??? what on earth kind of excuse is that? its part of the childhood experience to be terrified out of your mind while your parents watch and do nothing and maybe even laugh ? its part of the childhood experience to find out that your parents dont care if something scares you?

im sorry, but i dont consider any childhood experiences to be about santa or being forced to sit in his lap. in fact, i dont recall Christmas being about santa. sure its cute and all, but how cute is a picture where your child is terrified? doesnt that do anything to your heart?? that photo hurts ME. why doesnt it hurt the parent of that child? wheres the sympathy? wheres the empathy? wheres the care and the love for our children?
no, instead lets submit them to terror and fear. it may seem silly to you, but to a kid its horrifying. how insensitive.

NOW : i didnt say dont TRY. sure. go ahead and TRY. thats no problem. some kids are more curious, interested, and just fine with it. nothing wrong with that.
what im saying is if your kid is adamantly against it, and you will know that before they are sitting on santa's lap, dont force them into it. dont you think that breaks trust between you and your child? to force them into something they find scary? like i said, NOT COOL

our schools are having to teach empathy to kids.
this is a great example of why kids dont have empathy anymore. we dont show it to them, they cant learn it.
