Park Ave Photography Boutique Photog Tip #4: Here is a great way to photograph headbands. Secure a piece of fishing line, either strung across your lightbox or rigged in your studio, and place the headband over the fishing line. Edit out the line in your post processing. Look closely, and you will see the fishing line before this shot was ...edited. This was a trick I came up with when I had my online boutique.
Park Ave Photography Boutique Photog Tip #3: This is for any type of child photography... always get down to eye level with your little subject if you are trying to get a full body shot. Now there are always exceptions for creative angles and poses, but for your classic straight on full body shot, be sure you are at their level rather than... taking a pic from up above or they will look squatty.

Park Ave Photography Boutique Photog Tip #2: Details!!! If you are photographing a set with detailed applique, patchwork, beading, etc, be sure to capture these details for your client. I don't know how many times I've seen a boutique outfit for sale on ebay or etsy and asked, "What does the back look like? Is that appliqued, painted on, o...r just cut out of a sheet?" Always capture the details. The designer will appreciate it.
Park Ave Photography Boutique Photog Tip #1: Be creative, but not to the point that you are tweaking colors in photoshop. If the designer wanted vibrant blue in their fabric instead of classic blue, they would have purchased vibrant blue fabric, right? Try to keep in mind that this is their vision, and with respect to them, keep it as true to life as possible. :)
Park Ave Photography Yes, I speak boutique... I've been making hair bows since 2005, and love matching up my bow designs with some of the designers we model for. They make great photo props for babies and little girls. I love my ribbon almost as much as my camera. :)
