Deborah Wolf-Conway my first copy of NOTW just died from being over-read *looking mournfully at the scattered pages* is there a formal funerary ritual I need to observe for a dearly departed book?

Patrick, I know you probably get this a lot, but I have to say just one little thing, and ask a few questions (if that's alright). I'm simply astounded by your book. Just the sheer simplicity of it, as the entire book (technically) is taken place within the span of a week, and the large majority of the book within 3 ni...ghts of Kvothe recounting his story to the Chronicler.

After watching a video of yourself on YouTube about you discussing the book, you had said that "... I've always thought about this as 'the book' ... eventually I hit 400,00 words and I wasn't at the end yet, and I realized this couldn't be just 'a' book, so I actually wrote it until the end of the story ..." (1:34 to 1:51)* What I mean to ask is, does this possibly mean that the second book is on it's way soon?

Btw... I meant to say that the sheer simplicity of the book's premise is really astounding, but I kinda left it hanging lol.

The last question i really wanted to ask is how is it that you pronounce Kvothe's name?? Is it "kuh-VOTHE" or "KOTHE" or "QUOTHE" or is it "VOTHE" with a silent K?? HELP!

i don´t speak english very good, but i can tray to explain what emotions cause your book in my person. Narciss & Goldmund, by Herman Hesse, capture the essence of their loneliness´s carachters, love, fear, compassion & most important their destiny in this world. Kvothe reflex the opossit, is a accomplice in the darknes...s, he doesn´t got a world & he is alone whit nothing important thing to do yet. He just remember. Well obviously i expect book two, but i read in spanish, so when the translation was ready, and so, so......doh! i will wait long enough, but im ok with that. Just tray that book two was perfect. greetings!!Read More

Patrick Rothfuss is sick. Just a head cold. But it's really hard to be all sparking clever with a head that feels packed with hot cotton. Plus I can't kiss my baby. So double suck.

Brett Marrus You know what Pat, I am kinda annoyed with you. I went to Borders today to get a new book and as I was browsing the sci-fi/fantasy section I just couldn't pick anything that good out. Reading your book has spoiled me, and I fear, ruined the rest of the genre for me. :D
