Message from the Publisher -- Throughout history, the burden of keeping the flame of liberty bright has fallen on the shoulders of a few men and women. As Founding Patriot Samuel Adams once noted, "It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." The Patriot Post provides readers with a conservative synopsis and analysis of the week's news. We deliver free to your inbox each week. "History affords us many instances of the ruin of states, by the prosecution of measures ill suited to the temper and genius of their people. The ordaining of laws in favor of one part of the nation, to the prejudice and oppression of another, is certainly the most erroneous and mistaken policy. ...

A year ago, the election of Barack Hussein Obama was an egregious affront to our national legacy and a clarion call to action for many good citizens who honor the rights and obligations of liberty.

Cindy, I agree with your comments and share your frustrations. This was not about the people getting coverage, it was about more, bigger government; more control. People who supported this bill were unaware of the language of the bill and all of the mandates that will effect THEM, should this pass the final hurdle in the Senate. We will continue to push back against this bill with our Senators with our phone calls and in November of 2010 with our vote.

Cindy, I share your concerns and agree with your perspective. It's still hard to believe that the House has approved the bill after all that has been voiced through emails, letters, phone calls, personal visits, prayers and demonstrations to try and warn these elected officials of the concequences. I suppose things are rushing toward the end faster than many would like it to come. If any aren't ready to meet their maker they should do so ASAP.

First I truly agree with Betty..It is so easy for us to become complacent. These 2 elections mean very little in the overall political landscape in the US. And Tonya..I saw Chris Mathew trying to act like he had expected these election results..who was this man....AND REMEMBER..Acorn is already reinventing itself. It is now able to receive ... Read Morefederal funds. I guess the stop funding Acorn was only for one bill. They are back in the fold, and we need to watch that Union SCEI OR SCEU... the sister to Acorn. Acorn is too sneaky to go quitely into the night. Keep an eye out for them. But aty least we can enjoy ..for a few moments .. the NJ and VA elections.
