In June, the US... House of Representatives passed the American Clean Energy and Security Act. The Senate is now taking up similar legislation introduced by Senators Kerry and Boxer, called the Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act (http://switchboard.nrdc.org/blogs/ddonig
Before this legislation can be considered by the full Senate, it must be voted out of the Senate Environment and Public Works committee. Sen. Specter sits on this committee and is a crucial vote in moving the bill forward.

Internationally acclaimed artist Sara Steele (www.sarasteele.net) is famous for her annual calendar, now in its 30th edition, and her other watercolors that have been used in hundreds of poster graphics and other media. Sara is an activist as well as an artist, working in areas of ecology and climate change, women's is...sues, peace and social justice, and domestic violence prevention.
On Tuesday, November 10 from 5:10 to 7:30 p.m., PennFuture will hold a fundraiser featuring Sara Steele's work as part of her one woman show at Arts at 510 in Harrisburg.
