- Mission:
- The Eurochocolate festival of Perugia has earned the reputation as the most popular chocolate festival in the world and a favorite festival of Italians, making of Perugia the European capital of chocolate. For nine days the Umbrian town transforms itself into a huge open-air pastry-shop for the occasion. Dozens of events concentrate on the "food of the gods" with exhibitions, laboratories, internships, cooking classes, tastings, expositions, banquets, celebrations and finally the Eurochocolate Awards. Each year new themes and entertainment are developed like "the prisoners of the chocolate" in 2001, and the "Ciok si Gira!" dedicated to the cinema in 2002.
