we support geo tagging today. if you look at the web albums, there is a link to "location" when we have the geo info. The iPhone geotags the photos, but if you take them using the built-in camera app and then import them to Phanfare Photon, Phanfare gets zero metadata (so no geo). This is because Apple's "officially supported" import classes for ... See Moreapps don't retain metadata. You can take the photo from within Phanfare Photon and it will have metadata, including GPS coordinates but our camera is a bit slower (again, not our design). Alternatively, you can take photos using the built in camera app and then use Image Capture on a mac to get the photos to the computer. From there, you can import them to Phanfare and meta data is retained. Annoying workflow, we realize.

The Droid Geotags photos as well, and because there is no app for this device, I email them to my account and I'm not seeing that this information carried over. I send the same test picture to Picasa and it reads the Lat/Long data just fine?

Not sure what's going on there. We actually don't own a Droid. You can email a photo to support and we can try to take a look, although the email-to-phanfare gateway is lightly used. If you transfer the photo to a PC and then upload via the web, do we pick up the geo info?

I love it! So many times the beginning of my shows isn't what I want to have as the lead image. This is fantastic! Thanks Phanfare!

we continue to evaluate roku and if more of our customers were using their box, we would take the dive. are there lots of you out there? We thought tivo might be more important.

Flash uploader - it seems to be the default when you want to add images with the web client (at least for me).

yes, it is the default. we are going to allow you to change your default if you like the java one better (but still start with the flash one because it works for more people)

ok, we will take a look at the structure of the notification that you get for photos and videos put into your drop box.

Ultimately, only you can determine how concerned you are about someone taking an image. One intermediary security setup is to disallow indexing by google but still leave the site open. That way, it is not likely to be found but is still convenient for friends and family. Another option is to use a third party watermarking program.
