Phoenix Zoo Wow! Great opening day for Land of the Dragons! Did you know one of the features of this exhibit is the ability to see one of the Komodo dragons in their night house if it is too cold out?

Phoenix Zoo Corporate Volunteering – Urban Land Institute Young Leaders Group
Looking to get out of the office for the day or to do some team building with your employees? Why not organize your coworkers for a ½ or full day volunteer project at the Phoenix Zoo? Not sure it’s your co-workers you want to spend the day wit...h? What about another organization you are part of?
On Saturday, November 14, 2009 the Urban Land Institute Arizona Young Leaders Group has committed to just such a project. With the support of Zoo staff, this group of young professionals will spend their morning building a brose garden behind our elephant exhibit and another at the future location of the camel rides. Brose is branches and leaves taken from trees and shrubs that are given to our animals for diet and behavioral enrichment.
The mission of the ULI Arizona YLG is to educate and connect Arizona's young real estate leaders of tomorrow through the exchange of ideas to better prepare them for the unique urban challenges in Arizona's future. ULI Arizona YLG creates a dynamic, yet relaxed, platform where its members can interact professionally and socially with the leaders of today.
Other recent volunteer projects have included, installing pavers near the Equine Center, clearing brush behind jaguar, planting cactus, trail clean up, painting projects and interacting with the public at Zoo events. Most projects do not require any specific expertise, but groups with specific skill are also welcome.
The Phoenix Zoo accepts groups with ten to 200 members for these projects. Volunteers must be over 18. Please allow the Phoenix Zoo eight weeks to locate and coordinate a project. The Zoo is not able to provide all needed work gloves or water for many projects and may ask you to provide these or other supplies.
