Pine Street Inn Because of the $600 million shortfall facing Massachusetts, Gov. Deval Patrick will be forced to make cuts to the budget. Affected budget areas include housing and human services — crucial funding for Pine Street Inn falls into that category. Call Gov. Patrick’s office at 617.725.4005 and leave a message asking that he does not cut funding to homeless shelters and housing programs for low-income individuals.

The residents and volunteers engaged in lively conversation all afternoon. ...There were stories shared about everything from the Sox/Yankees series to personal tales of triumph over homelessness.
