What it should say is this:

8) 'South Africa kicked everybody's ass again this year, at ALL levels. New Zealand kicked everybody's ass but South Africa's, and Australia kicked everybody's ass but South Africa's and New Zealand's. France and the Home Unions fantasized about parity, but did not match that in reality. Not even close.

A great year it was and here's why:

:o Japan will host a World Cup, even though the IRB Apartheid regime only used it as a Trojan Horse to usher in yet another World Cup on British soil (the fourth, in fact, and there have only been six so far...).

:o Argentina will join the World First Division (affectionately known as the Tri Nations, which will, one assumed, become the Four Nations, unless they are silly enough to call it the Quad Nations, which sounds like another name for Interpol.

:o 7s will be played at the Olympics because its quick, simple, unpredictable and universal, unlike XVs, which is slow, complicated, predictacble and elitist.

:o Super 15 (rugby's NFL that the hapless British fantasize about parity with :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: ) franchise seems set for Melbourne, where rugby is hardly played but where people like to watch sports - any sports - on TV and in their mega stadiums. Port Elizabeth is the only rival, but, although they do actually play rugby, they aren't in Australia and would be back and forth across the Indian Ocean like a rugby team-shaped Yo-Yo.
