PodBible - everyone's audio Bible

PodBible - everyone's audio Bible The next time people get together to prepare |Think|Pray|Do| ideas will be the last! We will finish the Bible :) So, we want a party. But does this Sunday at 4:30 finishing with food suit people? (I've only had 2 replies to the email, so I'm trying here...)

PodBible - everyone's audio Bible Tim will be away with no Internet for a while, that probably means that the readings above will not update regularly - it is supposed to be automatic, but seems to need a manual tickle to work :(

PodBible - everyone's audio Bible In case you hadn't realised ;) the readings from the start of 1 Samuel, over the last couple of days, weren't the start of repeating 1 Samuel but of a series leading to Christmas!
Today's reading from Isaiah does not sound "Christmassy" yet verses from this chapter are often read as part of services of "Lessons and Carols".

How does it work when you heard the whole chapter?

How does this chapter help prepare US for Christmas in 2008?

PodBible - everyone's audio Bible Have you seen this? http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/10/06/bible.marathon.ap/index.html?eref=rss_topstories

What a neat way to use the pope's star status!

I could not help wondering what would happen if BibleSoc and the Scripture Union's Christians in sport group (and a few others) got together and got NZ celebrities to read a gospel. It might not get on free to air TV here, but it could be cheap (by TV standards) to make, at least if the celebs volunteered their time. It could also go on DVD and YouTube so get wide distribution. Even with some imagination, become a serial story, stopping at exciting places and distributed by mobile phone as well as the other routes.

What a way to get Kiwis in touch with the Bible! And the cumulative impact of a whole bunch of celebs could really help make faith cool. Each of them would only have to give an hour or so of their time...
