Kat Smith I still have a flock of goldfinch at my feeders. We're at 1100 ft in the Chehalem Mts and this is not common for this time of year. Shouldn't they have gone south for warmer weather?

Diana Margarita Hulet just heard two geese flying overhead, why are they still here?

DyLynn Stellar's Jay couple have been hanging around for last month; flocks of Goldfinches, Chickadees and Juncos; one hummer two weeks ago...also Towhee showed up again after years of not spotting in the yard...we're between Mt. Tabor and I-84 with really old apple tree, untidy garden and several feeders.

Well, today on Christmas Day I saw three goldfinches on my feeder, and had a very high or drunk make robin crash, literally, in my front yard. Just now. Flat onhis back, feet up, but very much alive.
There are lots of cats in the neighborhood, and the Sun is going down and it's getting cold. So, I put him on a towel in ...a box with air holes, on the front porch in large laundry basket of towels.
Now what do I do?

Sarah The first week of winter break camp was great. Unfortunately the fog made it hard to find raptors on our road trip. However, we did find some amazing mosscicles hanging from trees yesterday in the sanctuary.

Tammi a spectacular fog-draped forest enticed me into the audubon sanctuary this morning. first steps revealed three varied thrushes in the duff, chickadees and nuthatches caching seeds, and a raven calling.
