Duane Nellis Melanie Fisher, Development Officer for the Inland Northwest Blood Center, attended my Chamber presentation in Spokane Valley last week. She came up and thanked me for our student support through our student blood drives. She said our students have saved hundreds of lives. Thanks to our students for making a difference!

Duane Nellis Meeting with law alumni in Coeur d'Alene this afternoon. College of Law alumni have compiled distinguished careers throughout the U.S. and internationally. Thank you for exemplifying the university's legacy of leading!

Duane Nellis Tonight I met with business leaders from the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce. Looking forward to a presentation to the group tomorrow.

Duane Nellis Today, I am back on campus for more listening and learning sessions, which have been invaluable as we set a strategic new direction for the University.

Duane Nellis I am just back from the APLU meeting, where a central theme related to budget implications of the U.S. economy for higher education, and initiatives of the new U.S. president with regard to American competitiveness and the importance of higher education. I met with national higher ed media, articulated my vision for the University of Idaho and a 21st century land grant, and was asked to author an op-ed piece.

Duane Nellis Though a disappointing outcome for the football game today, we did have a win against Boise State University: students from Idaho and BSU competed in a canned food drive to benefit the Idaho Foodbank. We are proud to learn that again the University of Idaho won this competition, showcasing our student commitment to helping those less fortunate.
