Brian Burke loves telling stories about his kids, all six of them. Of his son Brendan, he in particular loves telling one from years ago when the boy was just 3 and the family went to Florida.

Pride Toronto Director Andrew Lamb on My Mother's Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding: "I was originally drawn in by the political aspects of this show. There's one song, A Short History of Gay Marriage, that is the most important number to me. I feel so proud that we can do a show with this theme in this country, and that it's safe, beca...use there are many places where My Mother's Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding could not be performed." Pride Toronto
This week's article in Fab refers (see link below). In response:
Pride Toronto exists to celebrate the history, courage, diversity and future of Toronto's LGBTTIQQ2S communities. We are a not-for-profit organization and our community is what makes Pride the thriving celebration of our culture and unity it has become.
W...e are grateful to have the support of our local community in the Church and Wellesley Village and are proud members of the Church-Wellesley Village Business Improvement Area (CWVBIA). The annual Halloweek event attracts visitors to the Village from nearly every community of the GTA. We worked with the CWVBIA to prepare for Halloweek, and this year Pride is hosting a beer garden and costume contest, the proceeds of which will support Pride’s 2010 Human Rights program.
To use the words of the editor of Fab, yes - it takes more than a village to raise a Pride. Pride is supported by almost 1,000 volunteers, by many of the businesses in the Church and Wellesley Village, in almost every area of the GTA and across Canada, by all three levels of government, and of course, by the free media coverage provided by outlets like NOW Magazine, and by the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to our festival and parade every year.
We are happy to be able to say that our roots and our future are both in our Village. Our support and our community, however, includes people in every kind of community, from Toronto and the GTA, from around Ontario and from across Canada. We have a responsibility to reach out to and stand up for every one of these people by taking a stand and working to further human rights for all.
If anyone has questions about future Pride events, please feel free to contact us.
