A public option for health care.
We are "Fans" of a public option for health care. We are tired of delays, we are tired of ridiculous scare tactics, and we are tired of excuses. America needs a public option for health care -- and it's time for Americans to stand up and demand it.

A public option for health care.

Smita Apte Corpron

Smita Apte Corpron Congressman John Fleming ( Louisiana physician) has proposed an amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same healthcare plan they force on us (under proposed legislation they are curiously exempt). If Congress forces a plan on the American people, the lawmakers should have to accept the same l......evel of healthcare for themselves and their families. To do otherwise is hypocrisy! A public option for health care.

A public option for health care. 23,000 pledgers, and $1.15 million in pledges against Lieberman if he filibusters a public option (see below)

A great start, but with Senator Lieberman still threatening to filibuster the final bill (see Politico article at http://Facebook.com/StopJoe), we need to turn up the heat.

Spread the word, get more pledgers, and... let's take this to $1.5 million!

Senator Lieberman is threatening to filibuster health care reform. By becoming a fan now, you are pledging to donate to his opponent in 2012, if he follows through on this threat. We are not looking for donations ourselves, nor will we accept them. But when 2012 rolls around, and his opponents have announced, we wi...ll remind you of your pledge, tell you which opponents are supportive of health care reform (with a public option) and ask you to follow through with them directly. $50 or higher is the suggested amount, but all we ask is that you pledge what you think you could actually give. Lower is fine, if $50 would cause a hardship, but if you can go higher, than please do. (FYI, in determining total projected pledges, we are using an estimate of $50 on average per pledger. Yes, some will be lower, and some will probably flake altogether. But... some will be higher, and out of the group as a whole, there will be undoubtedly be a few who will max out at $2,300+. And each $2,300 donor makes up for 45 pledgers who flake)

As a pediatrician in favor of reform I am so tired of trying to lobby. You are right Yanez the votes have been bought. Paul Donaghey I just searched craigslist for "medical bills", within moments I was counting up into the hundreds of people who had to sell their belongings to cover medical expenses. This was just in Denver and Boulder Colorado. How many can you find in your area? Strong public option NOW!!!

A public option for health care. Wow. Our new anti-Lieberman page, in support of a public option, (see below) just got some great coverage from MSNBC (click below to see the video).

After less than 72 hours, we're closing in on 8,000 pledgers, and an estimated $400K in pledges.

Please lend your support, "fan" the page, and spread it like crazy.

I have a friend who belonged to a "no abortion coverage" plan. When her fetus died 3 months into her pregnancy, they said they wouldn't cover a D&C, even though the tissue was dead. She ended up going to Planned Parenthood. That's what we'll all get with Stupak.

I guess so. I don't like it either but I think it's still worth it if it means getting closer to universal coverage. Even though they're relatively cheap, I hate to think of young girls not opting for them just because they can't come up with the cash.

A public option for health care. $100,000 pledged to defeat Lieberman? Maybe...

As
you might have seen earlier, we started a new Facebook page today: "If
Joe Lieberman filibusters health care, I will donate to his opponent."

Well, after just a few hours, we've already got 2,000 pledgers. Clearly, people are pissed.

By our estimate, that could well already... equate to $100K in donations. Check the link below for the full story...
