The 8 minute exchange on refocusing the debate around same-sex marriage worth a watch. What do you make of Gushee's point that regardless of what one's position on the morality of gay and lesbian relationships, we s...hould support some legal recognition of those relationships, especially to have a legal vehicle that supports permanence and also provides for the protection of the children in those families in the case that they break up?

none - faith based program is illegal-and it's a sin for this president to tell us the "issue" may end in the Supremem court, while we fight it everyday all over the country until then, spending dollars better for something else. Not one lawmaker will comment on it - since after the first 6months Dems railed about it - they climbed onboard for the perks. They post no comments on their websites.

Hi, Steve, thx for joining the conversation. whenever we ask this question, we always give 3 options (I broke 2 out above). Our full findings were: gay couples should be allowed to marry (33%), gay couples should be allowed to form civil unions but not marry (32%), or there should be no legal recognition of a gay couple's relationship (35%). The 2/3 number comes from combining the two types of legal recognition options. Hope that clarifies.

A survey from the Pew Forum on Religion showed that a vast majority of Americans, nearly 80%, believe in miracles. The results are from a wider study, "Religion Among the Millennials." Greg Smith from the Pew Forum on Religion talks about the widespread belief in miracles.

What's your take--if groups receive federal money should they be able to discriminate based on religion in hiring?

I would say the where public funds directly flow within an agency is where state and Federal non-discriminatory hiring practices must be adhered. In other words if a church is provided funding for a foodbank, which many are, the foodbank must adhere to public standards in personnel practices – but the parish secretary of that church, if he or she ... See Moredoes not work as an employee of the foodbank should be exempt from those standards. Client access and equitable treatment should also be dependent on its direct relationship to public funding. A publicly funded foodbank cannot require, cajole or imply that reception of food is dependent upon a religious act (prayer, listening to a sermon, etc.) or conformity to a particular tenet or faith.

Anything that sets a persons mind on things of GOD is good but in reality the true purpose all of us exist is to give HONOR and GLORY to GOD. To be obedient to HIS laws and exist living as close to HIS will as we can, not out of fear but because of love. We are to be the best we can be in every part of our lives ,religious, family , and work, That's what GOD wants from us, but most of all HE wants our LOVE.

When you state religion do you really mean or people interpret it as denomination ? That is critical to the accuracy of your poll.GODS word quotes JESUS as saying " I AM THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE, NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER BUT BY ME" There are many so called Christian denominations but many are social clubs if they don't believe or preach ... See Moreall of the Bible they serve no purpose and should never be catergorized as Christian, they are social clubs. There are three types of preachers , Momma called, society called, and GOD called . Who do you want to listen to ?
