Race for New Revenues So you can bet on the ponies while playing poker in the casino. But you can't play poker while watching the ponies at the track. Silly. And costing Arizona millions in much-needed revenue.

Jen Izdepski Harger So, what's the latest news for the racinos then? Yay or nay?

OTB and At Track Betting is great but, a while back, just after the NRA Convention, everybody was complaining about nothing for our visiting Convention goers to do downtown. Why doesn't Arizona wise up and allow gambling like Nevada? Put a Casino downtown around the Convention Center and elsewhere. Not just in Phoen...ix but scattered all over the state. Why is it that all of us 'White Folks' (no racial intentions meant) will go spend our money at all the Indian Casinos and then still whine about our State Budget being in such a mess? In simple terms, Indian smart, white man stupid. This extra revenue would help out all our problems. Underpaid and under-appreciated teachers, firemen, policemen and all others who fall into this category. Casino would really solve a lot of this states woes. And all this ranting form a non gambler. Only once in a Blue Moon. LOLRead More

I think slots at the racetracks is a good source for additional revenues. Millions of people go to the casinos to give the indians money, why not help support our firefighters and police force. Having slots at the racetracks is not going to make us another Las Vegas. The tracks already have gambling. My man enjoys the ...racetracks and I am totally bored there. But I like the slots and he does not. I'm sure there are plenty of people around like us. With slots at the tracks it would make everyone happy.Read More

Race for New Revenues wants to see more focus on finding NEW sources of revenue for Arizona. And no, that certainly doesn't mean creative new taxes.

Race for New Revenues : Adding casino-style gaming at existing racetracks means $375 million in new revenue for Arizona in the first year alone. Poker + ponies = big win for Arizona.
