- With 23 years of baking experience, Roopa Kalyanaraman Marcello knows a thing or two about baked goods. At the age of 7, she baked her own birthday cake because she wasn't pleased with the quality of commercial baked goods, and she's been hooked on baking ever since. Even now, with the recent boom of cupcake shops, she hasn't been able to find a cake or cupcake that meets her exacting standards
Upon the urging of her friends and family, Roopa launched Raspberry Bakeshop in 2009 so that everyone can experience her exceptional cakes and cupcakes. Known for her cloud-like meringue buttercream frostings and memorable flavor combinations - pistachio-rose, brown sugar-hazelnut-blackberry, and Earl Grey tea-kumquat, among others - Roopa's baked goods have been known to make converts out of people who don't have a sweet tooth.
All orders are made fresh from scratch using the finest ingredients - farm-fresh eggs, sweet cream butter, Madagascar vanilla, Venezuelan bittersweet chocolate, handmade fruit preserves, and freshly ground spices. Pick from one of the many flavor combinations or dream up your own.
