The two camp thesis is on the money. And the Progressive camp received further emphasis and empowerment from the French revolution and philosophies rooted therein, ie egalitarianism, down with the bourgeoisie, class struggle and on and on until Marx and Lenin. The truth of the American revolution is that tyranny is antithetical to liberty. The American system is meant to limit government, not the other way around.

The stimulus plan has two aspects that reek particularly badly: 1) the government ownership of private sector businesses is another step toward socialism, and 2) it is another example of the liberal preference for symbolism over substance. Mr. Reagan, as usual, summed it up the best when he said, ""In this present crisis government is not the solution for our problems; goverment is the problem."

If the governemnt can't even get the H1N1 vaccine to the public until after the worst of the expected pandemic has passed, why should I trust them to take charge of my healthcare? Also, I have family and freinds in both Ireland and Canada who are appalled that the United States wants to immulate their healthcare systems.
