Miodrag Mikica Torlaković Hey guys, how we doing?
I'm so upset!!! Today, I find out that because I'm born after 1980 and I'm coming from Serbia, I'm not laud to give the blood?!?! Can anybody tells me why? 'Coz at Red Cross where I went today, they didn't have the answer!!!

The reason you are not eligible to donate is that since 1980 Creutzfeld-Jacob Disease (aka Mad Cow Disease) has been present in Serbia (and many other counties) and there is no way to test for it in donated blood. You can read more here: http://www.redcross.org/en/eligibility#vcjd
