Lauren Relay for Life is AWESOME!!!! This is my third year doing RFL. My first two years I was barely well enough to attend! It has been a year and a half since my bone marrow transplant(Acute Myeloid Leukemia). It has been two years since I was diagnosed. This year will be my first year to have a team. For the last sixteen minutes and twenty-seven seconds I've been watching this video in absolute awe. It's the story of John Kanzius who designed, built, and tested a machine (on himself), all in hopes of curing his leukemia.

I am sooo Excited! yesterday we had our first team captains meeting because the lady that is our captain again this year we know her for years because her husband was my nephew's baseball coach in little legauge and she picked my mom to be her Co-Captain and we are very Excited!!! we are the Miami Springs Optimist Ohan...a :) our theme this year is Luau For Life :) . and we are already planning our first fund raiser :) which will be on Dec 12,2009 at 7pm a christmas party:) . Me and my family started to praticipate in Relay for life right after my grandmother passed away i feel that even though we dont have her with us anymore me and my family can do something in her memorie to stop and fight back this Awful Disease Called Cancer.
