Thank you Congressman Grijalva and for introducing H.R. 644 to permanently protect the Grand Canyon from uranium mining. (Thanks to Congresswoman Kirkpatrick for co-sponsoring the legislation also.)

Obama moves quickly to preserve the West, Less than a year into his four-year term, President Barack Obama has begun a dramatic reversal in Western land use policy that has already had a major impact in Arizona. {lnl} Brewer: Canyon mining ban 'unnecessary' | {snl} Green Valley home

J. Soltis -So, you like the idea of mining the Grand Canyon? and protected wildlife corridors sold out to developers? The guv needs to protect Western Lands from those who see no value beyond botton line. Thank you Congressman Grijalva.

So far, it is safe to say that President Obama is an activist with an appetite for transformative ideas even as he avoids defining them, or himself, too sharply.

Rep. can you use Stupak to get the more progressive agenda pushed? It seems like he doesn't have enough votes to block the bill from being brought to the floor...unlessa block of progressives join him. He's not an ideal ally but you can use him for our cause. Tell Pelosi you will join him in preventing the bill from being submitted to the floor unless the Kucinich amendment and the robust public option are reinserted. Is that possible? It's time to play hardball. Please!

Is this so important that it takes priority over really urgent issues facing the nation? No wonder that things don't get done in DC. Then of couse there's the 2-1/2 day workweek with full pay.

Raul M. Grijalva The House has released its Health Insurance Reform Bill. I am deeply disappointed that it currently does not include a robust public option that pays a fair and consistent Medicare-plus-five rate, nationwide. I plan to fight for a robust public option amendment that will cap negotiated rates, prevent states from opting-out, ensure there is no trigger and remove all anti-trust exemptions for insurance companies.

To the market fundamentalist ideologue in this batch...There is no such thing as a "free market". It has not been, it is not and it never will be. Unregulated markets become monopoly oligarchies which are as effective at imposing tyranny as any king or priest. This should be clear at this point in history

Raul,
You are fighting the good fight!

Please beware of the public-option-but-states-can-opt-put proposal! I'm sure with our luck and history, Arizona would opt out. I NEED A PUBLIC OPTION! And so do MANY Americans.

Billie, it is socialism. How did this country and it's citizens exist BEFORE the government give-aways? Now the gvmt wants us to be wholly dependent on their control. Are you willing to give more of your earnings so that the gvmt can give it away? Oh, maybe you don't actually earn an honest living. Maybe you are on the public tit and that's why you like socialism.
