We can't just think about the numbers, we need to hear the stories of those affected by DADT. Follow Citizens for the Repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell to learn both about those currently serving while closeted, and those who have already been discharged.
End the ban.

I believe we are finally mature enough as a society to recognize what has always been true: gays have always been part of wars, and they do just fine. Aren't most of the younger generations already tolerant? Besides, the military led the way on racial integration, why not this as well? It's crazy stupid to kick out ...well qualified (and decorated) men and women because their sexual preferences became known to the wrong people.

Please join us tomorrow and honor the slain and their surviving family, by this small token of solemn recognition.

Ginger Keena Hupp Duh? This seems so obvious. This policy makes no damn sense.

Gosh, I spent a total of 20 years in the military, combined active and reserve. All the powers that be say we queers would bring down the morale of a unit. Hum, let's see--rampant male testosterone raping women, fellow soldiers, and the military is worried about queers. And let's see, we live in the biggest, greatest f...ree nation and the powers that be do not see what an asset more bodies for the unforgiving wars in the middle east. And, oh by the way, how much damage have queers in our sister nations caused? None, zip, nada. If there is a problem then it is with people who cannot deal with their own sexuality and are petrified that they might actually find someone of the same sex attractive. And, oh by the way, being gay or lesbian is not about sex, it is about the relationship we develop emotionally, spiritually, and physically. So, let's get into the 21st century. I finished my career under DADT, what the hell is the point. It is time to end government sponsored discrimination!!Read More

Belissa Morgan They will give you a medal for killing some one.....And DISCHARGE your ass for loving some one of the same sex. Well if you know me, I am going to speak my mind.... thats freaking wrong!!

Laura Koether It just doesn't make sense to eliminate individuals from our armed services based on sexual orientation. What in the HELL does one have to do with the other? Maybe the straight folks should explore their motivation for the "don't tell." I would prefer to have a really buff gay guy or girl in the trenches next to me than some of the whimpy straight guys out there today.

Nanci Montgomery Sexual orientation is so irrelevant when it comes to integrity, sacrifice, and service. Repealing this absurd policy DADT will be this countrys gain. Some of the gayest people I've known are the greatest people working this planet.

Magnus Anyone here based in NEW YORK CITY having been professionally affected by the DADT-policy? Please contact me for a possible interview with European LGBT publication.

In action is not an option. I'm active duty Military and we need to really, I mean really press our lawmakers to change this policy. The President can't dismiss it, but he can submit an executive order dismissing the discharges of all military personnel getting kicked out. Until congress gets off their buts and repeal ...this policy. But, we have to stay on our leaders and make sure, the promises they make, they follow through with them.Read More

The president renewed his vow to allow gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military but offered no timetable.

Military.com’s “Line of Departure” is featuring a poll on DADT repeal. http://www.thelineofdeparture.com/2009/1 0/07/dont-ask-dont-tell-dont-hold-your-b reath/?ESRC=mr.nl Currently, our side is losing (67 percent have answered “No, ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ Should Remain Law of the Land”). Please cast your vote and urge your friends, today, to do the same. Each person can only vote once.
