This is commendable, but the first reform needs to be of the State Ethics Commission. Last November when the commission took public comment for several months and held a public hearing in Raleigh. While there was a public openness lobbyist...Jane something...who was obviously there to kiss up to the board...there was... only one...that's right...one citizen in the state who gave the do-nothing-but-paperwork commission a loud earful! Me. The Ethics Commission did not put Meg Scott Phipps away, the legislator from the mountains or former legislator Thomas Wright. They didn't reprimand Jim Black. And they probably worship a small statue of Mike Easley. Instead they bury good honest NON-PAID citizens who serve on boards with useless paperwork and countless forms. Want to start abolishing worthless inept if not corrupt bodies...I've got a really good hint for you!Read More
