ab There are great prospects in the New Year for the anti-stigma campaign. A windfall tax on the sufferers various benefits will come just in time to fund the monies lost by the caring charities? It'd be neat to see some of this funding given to a full length anti-stigma movie. A real survivors story. Not a triumph ov...er adversity that gives unrealistic expectations but neither a despairing story of utter hopelessness. Something that shows how the various double binds makes it virtually impossible to escape the conditions boundaries once the stigmatising label is applied.

Like most people who have been a mental health service user in the UK for a while, I have spent time on the medication chlorpromazine.  Mostly for me it has been used to calm me down when I’m really ill, and I have to say, I would still rather have chlorpromazine than haloperidol - even if it pu...

I would still rather have chlorpromazine than haloperidol? Neither worked for me but I was still forced to take them. One pill made me into a dribbling zombie and the other into a agitated cat on a hot tin plate.

Cholorpromazine just made me want to lie down all day an watch tv couldn't be bothered to do anything.Nothing worked on me but just took the meds just to keep my family an Drs happy the last medication i was on was Risperidone not as sedated i could do must things but still my head didn't feel right an a funny feeling in my stomach.I don't used any... See More meds now the long term use an side effects are too upsetting to think about.I don't care what the Drs say new or old drugs they still cause brain damage long term use.Reseach as proven if you want people to get better they need to be off meds. The Soteria house project no money for the drugs companys $12 billion a year on antipsychotic meds are they really trying to find a cure.I would say NO.

I find the way the Chinese have treated this mentally ill man absolutely appalling, he was put to death by lethal injection at 10.30 am this morning knowing that he had a mental health bi polar illness....utterly disgraceful...I for one will never buy anything 'made in China' again......................

I am not unsympathetic to some of the comments on here about the death penalty in China of this mentally ill man. However, I wish there was as much furore about the Chinese illegal occupation of Tibet, and the genocide and torture of thousands of innocent Tibetans, as well as their appalling record on human rights in China itself! As a protest I ... See Moream trying to boycott Chinese goods, but it is not easy with the decline in western manufacturing and China's ability to produce goods so much cheaper - we must ask ourselves not only how, but for how long?!

Well here it is-Christmas is nearly upon us! For some of us it is a welcome time of year where we can spend that extra bit of time with our families and friends and indulge ourselves with good food and drink. For others it is a difficult time-particularly those of us with any mental health problem...
