The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated... I hold that, the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of human kind.

Richmond SPCA Have you been keeping up with our Mascot Joey lately? He is one busy pooch this holiday season!

Every year at the Richmond SPCA's Fur Ball, which benefits our Cinderella Fund for ill, injured and neonatal orphaned animals, we auction the opportunity to serve as our spokespet for the coming year. This year, Joey Stanley, his sidekick Baby Girl, and his family will represent the Richmond SPCA's dogs and cats at lot...s of fun events around town. Be sure to come out and visit with Joey - he can't wait to meet you! Joey's Platform Joey turns 12 this year and in honor of the occasion he would like to raise $12,000 for the Richmond SPCA's Cinderella Fund, which supports the rehabilitation of ill, injured and underage orphaned animals. Joey will also be "fighting the good fight" by collecting Pet Pantry donations to make sure that beloved pets in need have enough to eat. He'll be collecting dog and cat food, and Cinderella Fund donations, at all of his appearances!

Lisa, that is awesome. Good karma for YOU! I think that S/N should be mandatory for all kitties. From breeders to anyone who releases them*

I feel so bad for cats. Humans treat them as disposeable.
