- 18-year old Rita Ora was born in Pristine, Kosovo. She moved to London as a baby with her parents and older sister. Raised in Ladbroke Grove, Rita developed a unique musical talent into one of the most exciting new voices to come out the UK in recent years. Influenced by Miles Davis, Billy Holiday, and others in her fathers record collection she came in contact with producer Martin Terefe. Together they have developed a sound that is both gritty, bluesy and contemporary.
On the song-writing front, Rita and Martin have collaborated with Ron Sexsmith, Tommy Sims, Craig David, James Morrison and Sacha Skarbek on a debut album that will be released in the near future.
Rita first duet with Craig David was a track titled 'Awkward' that was on his fourth album "Trust Me", released in November 2007 and the track was performed with Craig at his residency at London's Ronnie Scott's in 2007. Her 'In The City' showcase in Manchester on Monday October 22nd was the first performance with her own band and the beginning of an exciting career as a performer.
Following this she featured on a new Craig David track, 'Where's Your Love' also featuring Tinchy Stryder, which was released for digital download on November 10th 2008.
