Robert Aderholt Thanks for all of the messages of support for my vote against the Pelosi gov't takeover of health care. I'm very distrubed that many Democrats are now fighting to make sure gov't funding for abortions is put back into the bill. http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/66969-senior-dem-confident-stupak-amendment-will-be-stripped

We need to move slowly on this. Start with people with no insurance who have can't work but aren't collecting any benefits yet - it takes forever to get disability in place. Make sure the disabled and homebound can get home visits from doctors i- they have to pay $800 for an ambulance to take them to a doctors office. Fix what is really wrong, ... Read Moreone thing at a time before you mess up what is good for so many of us. I am a lower middle class workforce, working in various states in various types of jobs I have not been without insurance for 25 years; most employers are offering it. Make the insurance companies take people with pre-existing conditions - that will solve a ton of the problem with health care access. Stop the Medicare and Social Secutiry benefits to people who don't need it. Stop the Medicare gap. Make Medicaid paperwork easier to doctors will see those patients. Fix liittle problems that can change the face of health care instead of turning our worlds upside down.

Robert Aderholt What a night! I voted against the Pelosi health care plan tonight because America can't afford another big government overly mandated bill from Congress. I commend the passing of the pro-life Rep. Stupak Amendment, but the bill still had many flaws.

Robert Aderholt I stopped by the House Republican "reading room" to read through some shocking parts of the Pelosi health care bill. Did you know that this bill creates, expands or extends 43 new entitlement programs and creates 111 additional offices, bureaus, commissions, programs, and over and above the entitlement expansions.

Report this to Fox news, they are the only ones who will report the negative. The public needs to know the specifics that will destroy our country if it is allowed to pass.

Robert Aderholt Thanks for your input on health care. My position has not changed even though Speaker Pelosi has changed the plan's name and bill number. The government takeover of health care that Speaker Nancy Pelosi reintroduced yesterday still adds up to way too much bureaucracy, numerous unfair mandates and more government control in an area where more government just doesn’t belong.

Congressman Aderholt I wish you and the other Republicans in Congress, and some sensible Democrats, all success in stopping this government take-over of the private lives of individual citizens. I believe we will be returning control of the House back to you Republicans in 2010 and the Senate and White House in 2012. Here is hoping the Republican... Robert Aderholt The most noticeable initial difference to today’s "new" health care bill (H.R. 3962) is that it is 1,990 pages, compared to the original version (H.R. 3200) which was only 1,017 pages!! Wow... that is a lot.

Not to worry Robert Aderholt, the insurance companies are fully protected with this bill. Nothing in it will stop their rising rates or their CEOs from continue to get their billions of dollars in profits. Your campaign money from them is secure, so don't worry, you will get your money from them! You served the insurance companies and their CEOs very well!

I would like to propose the amendment of but a single word in the 1,990 pages of the health care bill. At the top of page 225,

"1 SEC. 330. ENROLLMENT IN PUBLIC HEALTH INSURANCE
2 OPTION BY MEMBERS OF CONGRESS.
3 Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act,... Read More
4 Members of Congress may enroll in the public health in
5 insurance option."

the word "may" should be changed to "must".

Her "opt out" option will only let us not take the insurance, we will still have to pay for everyone else's. I want to opt out of paying for welfare and all other entitlement programs. Ask her if we can do that. No more taxes, even for rich people. I will never be in those tax brackets but they are no less of an Ameican than I am. Its not ok to rob the rich and give it to the poor, everyone has to work for a living.

Robert Aderholt This information makes you wonder why AARP supports Pelosi/Reid's health care reform while seniors overwhelmingly oppose it: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/26/AR2009102603392.html?sub=AR

Source: www.washingtonpost.com
The nation's preeminent seniors group, AARP, has put the weight of its 40 million members behind health-care reform, saying many of the proposals will lower costs and increase the quality of care for older Americans.

Well, If AARP approves, then that is a good sign it is good!! I know it is a good thing, just as medicare is a good thing, and even them Regan said, if we pass medicare, it wil destroy the country, that was 40 years ago, hey, country still here!!

Robert Aderholt I fully agree with Rep. Eric Cantor... health care reform is needed and it's time for a bipartisan health bill: http://www.cnn.com/2009/OPINION/10/24/cantor.bipartisan.healthcare/index.html

Given the heated rhetoric and sharp partisan divides that have characterized this year's debate, it's easy to forget that there are several key reforms in health care that Democrats and Republicans can agree on.

Sheila, really? The ONLY reason these 2 men don't want a national health care system (aka 'Public Option') is because they 'want money from these CEOs to help finance their careers.'??? How much do you think they are paid by these big insurance CEOs? Are you aware of the maximum contribution to a campaign? :-)

I believe it was Thomas Jefferson who said that any government big enough to give you everything you want, is powerful enough to take everything you have. Anything the government runs is always wasteful, full of fraud, and inefficient. Leave the health care alone.

What about those who choose not to have it...do you support the government FORCING them to have it, because that is one primary focus of this bill? Shouldnt everyone have a home too?
