SFJAZZ Flavorpill recommends ORNETTE COLEMAN's show on Sunday, 11/8 at Davies Symphony Hall. To me, that's an understatement! Easily one of the jazz events of the year...

Just shy of the big eight-zero, saxophonist Ornette Coleman is one of the only surviving jazz giants. He practically invented "free jazz," a no-holds-barred improvisational expression that ...

SFJAZZ Love this! SAVION GLOVER teaching Mr. Snuffleupagus some moves back in the early '90s. The undisputed "world's greatest tap dancer" plays two shows on Saturday night at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre. (Full disclosure: I don't think Snuffy is in the band currently. Then again, isn't he imaginary anyway?)

SFJAZZ Not to be outdone, SF Weekly also recommends SAVION GLOVER's show on Saturday as one of the best of the week, calling him a "superbeing" and hoping that he "continues to use his powers for good and not for evil."

Source: www.sfweekly.com
Dancers aren’t known for their smarts. Don’t shoot the messenger, it’s just a reality. Besides, who needs to be all brainy when you know how to move? The thing is, when a dancer is intelligent, society runs the risk of hosting a superbeing — we can only hope that Savion Glover continues to use his p...
