New SFU Contest--You can win $2000 tuition or a new laptop!

Calling all current SFU students and prospective students!

Ever think about how your post secondary education can help impact the world on a larger scale? Well SFU wants you to think about it! You are, after all, what the future needs.

You could win:
$2000 Simon Fraser University Tuition Award
Winner will be determined by the Simon Fraser University election committee.
Laptop
Will be awarded to the individual with the most votes as of contest closing date.
T-Shirts
Will be awarded when a submission reaches 50 votes.

To enter the Contest:
1) Go to www.sfu.ca/solutions/ during the Contest period (September 28, 2009 to April 30, 2010), and select “Register” to create an account.

2) Once you have created an account, click on the Step 1 button to explore SFU programs, and get an idea of which two or three programs, or areas of study, you will weave in to your solution to the question “What does the future need”.

3) Once you have explored the programs, click on the Step 2 button to submit your solution.

4) Notify your facebook friends, or tweet your friends, to encourage them to visit the site and vote for your solution.

Limit of one solution entry, per person, per day.
Entry to the Contest is only open to individuals pursuing post-secondary education in Canada
Employees and relatives (spouse, partner, parent, child or sibling) of employees of Simon Fraser University and any entities affiliated or related to Simon Fraser University are not eligible to enter the Contest.

Student Central Drop-in Academic Advising

Normal Hours : Monday – Thursday 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Additional Hours : Monday July 13th – Thursday July 16th 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Monday, July 20th – Thursday July 23rd 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Important Notice:

Drop-in academic advising appointments are served on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED basis. Student Central will start accepting names 30 minutes before each advising session. Students are limited to 15 minutes for each appointment.

SFU has an ever-increasing "official" presence on popular social media sites including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. It's a great way to find out about important student services information (through the Student Central Facebook page, as an example), mentions of the University in the mainstream media, volunteer and career opportunities, or just interesting facts/fun activities for any of the SFU campuses.
