Rose Tyson and Foster Farms chickens were found to be the most contaminated; less than 20 percent were free of either pathogens.

One year, after roasting all night, I cut into our 20+ lbs bird it was riddled with worms!! The butcher said (occassionally, not very often, but it happens) a fresh turkey will get out of rotation & get put back into frozen stock & brought out the following year!!! Yikes!! Needless to say, we had only ham that year... Happy thanksgiving! Lol

Douglas Pagel I live in Nebraska, how can I find chicken here that isn't plumped? Every package I look at in the grocery store has 15% solution added. The only store I can find none plumped chicken at is Whole Foods.

Hi Douglas, glad you... See More’re saying no to plumping! We would love to offer you an easy solution but unfortunately, most major poultry brands are plumped. Foster Farms is delivered fresh and never frozen so it’s only available in the West Coast and in select markets in Texas and the South. Truly 100% natural chicken should contain no more than 75 mg of sodium for a 4 oz serving on the back label, so that may help you locate other choices. If you’re still having a tough time finding non-plumped chicken in your store, ask the store’s meat manager what they have available and refer them to our site for more information on “dumping the plump.” Information packets are available at www.saynotoplumping.com. Good luck and thanks for your interest!
