I saw hatchling tracks this morning at bicentinneal park. They were right next to the park boardwalk! So fun! The neat thing is, I saw the female finish burying her eggs one morning almost two months ago!

Sea Turtle Preservation Society reminds everyone, again, that if you dig a hole on the beach, please fill it in when you are done! It can be a sad situation not only for hatchlings, but also nesting females. Recently a nesting sea turtle in south Florida became stuck in 4 x 4 foot hole

People arent too smart. The hardships they impose on other creatures. Sad when you think about it.

This is good to know. So many people come for a visit to the beautiful east coast and don't think of this. My family picked up a card from you about how you can help protect them. This should be added to that card.

Sea Turtle Preservation Society wishes everyone a happy Fourth of July holiday. Remember to keep the fireworks inland, and not on the beach. Sea turtles probably don't seem to enjoy the sparkles the same way we do!

Turtles are turtles. They will survive regardless of the Space Shuttle launching last night from Canaveral Are you kidding or just stupid. Remember to refrain from posting firework idiocy

I see people opening holes in the sand all the time..it's adults not kids...What's up with that??? they bring shovels and open these huge holes and then they leave....paradise bch, indialantic bch, satellite bch, melbourne bch..We need Beach Patrol..separate from the duties of lifeguards if we're going to protect the turtles!!!

I agree with Carmen. It should be treated with the same harshness as having bottles on the beach. It should be that if you dig a hole, you have to fill it up or you get fined. I was at Coconuts the other day and there was a huge hole right in the middle of the beach. No bueno for the little babies.

Now that sea turtle nesting is in full swing, there are a few things to remember if you are out on the beach-- If you see a nesting sea turtle- ---- Keep your distance, stay quiet, and make sure that you have no lights of any kind (flashlights, cell phones, flash photography), etc...
