Happy Thanksgiving Deb! Be thankful that your son took a 'field trip' to the food bank to learn about the needs of humanity, instead of as a client. And I wanted to let you know that some of us don't have that difficult a time with decisions.

My daughter has sev'l health issues and we didn't qualify for medicaid. I currently have sev'l thousand dollars of medical debt, and tens of thousands from a bad divorce. I've been a half a step ahead of foreclosure for months now. Yet she eats @ least three meals a day, continues to see her specialists, and takes her daily meds. This Thanksgiving I'm thankful for dedicated medical professionals who are willing to look past their wallets to the need of the patient. Like Bj said, just talk to them.

And having viewed Medicaid from the perspective of the applicant, I can tell you that hiring case workers with integrity would make a huge difference in the amount of dollars that are available for the truly needy! I have had no less than six different case workers encourage me to hide my income in order to appear eligible. Imagine what that means!... Read More

I'll make just one more point before leaving you to enjoy your holiday. Instead of berating your senator for standing up for what he believes is right and not buckling under the pressure that is daily upon him, pray for him. And while your at it pray for the rest of us. Big G is the answer, but it isn't Government - it's God!
