yes but volunteerism is up, no? Lots of unemployed either taking advantage of free time to give. Or just bored. Or hoping the volunteering will open doors to jobs. Whatever the motivation, charities are benefitting, no? Hopefully the boost in volunteering offsets the decline if $$ giving?
