Sharon Jaynes If you read my daily devotion on Girlfriends in God this morning, I asked a few questions. Here's one: Can you think of a time when your Heavenly Father said "no" to a request? Perhaps you didn't understand it at the time, but later the reason became crystal clear. Can you think of a time when you later praised God ...for the "no" and saw it was His provision or His protection? I'd love to hear your answers!

Sharon Jaynes Here are 3 questions I asked on my Girlfriends in God devotion this morning. I'd love to hear your answers! What life situations are rocking your boat today? Do you have the sense that Jesus is in the boat with you? What reassurance does that give you?

Sister Sharon tears nearly came to my eyes after reading this. I am always being told how beautiful I am however I continue to allow the devil to walk around with that mirror of the past and those lies in my ears. I will keep this post close to my heart.

I look forward to hearing from you.

I totally agree with you ...we can have Jesus but if we do not change the way we think and get a Holy Spirit filter in our brains....we are going to continue to see ourselves the way the enemy "draws" us. It's a process and sometimes a very difficult one ...but so worth it to work on changing the way I think and the way I see myself. God has ... See Morehelped me to see myself through His eyes... I am so much more confident than I have ever been... I am secure in my Abba Daddy's love!

Thanks for sharing this devotional today....

Debbie, husbands are told to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her. That's an awesome amount of love. If any couple has gone thru counseling and sadly cannot reconcile their differences due to self-centeredness and unwillingness to surrender their lives fully to the Lord then they have some serious choices to make about their future as a couple.

I think that, though a woman may work as hard or harder than a man (considering all the house work and children care as well as a job) most men feels that it is his place and his alone to care for the family needs. Though a woman may worry more about bills, household needs, children's needs... a man feels a failure if he is not providing for these ... See Morethings and feels the weight heavier on his shoulders. And a man also has trouble expressing his fears and worries whereas a woman does not have so much of this trouble. A wife being there and expressing in actions and words that she empathizes with the man's fears and worries and actually shares in them is the helpmate I feel that God intended for the wife to be. I also feel that it is the woman's responsibility to help a husband (if the husband is responsive to this) to be able to open up more to his wife; to actually share these fears and worries together as the single entity they were meant to become when they were joined to each other in marriage as God intended. If the husband is not responsive, praying for the right words and show of emotion as well as a husband's heart to be softened to receive this communication combined with patience and a turning to God in the frustration felt is the only comfort.
