A great view from the Bright Angel Trail at the Grand Canyon.
Has anyone been on the Grand Canyon Skywalk (the glass walkway that lets you step over the void and gaze downward)? If so - what was it like, and is it worth a special trip?

Very unusual for one of my animal pics, but I just found this guy on a pet adoption site and had to share it. He's probably the sweetest dog ever, but it's tough to get adopted when you look that mad (as an adoptee myself, I know!)
Of course, his name is "Snoopy"...
I can't decide if he looks more like Alice Cooper, Gene... Simmons, or King Diamond. Whatcha think? And should I adopt him on principle?
(ps for the full effect click the picture & see it fullsize).Read More

Why choose between mountain life and country life when you can have it all? Hay bales under golden light near the San Juan range of the Rocky Mountains...
Do you have a favorite American (or foreign) mountain range?
Click "Share" to re-post this image, or "Like" to let us know if you like it better than (or at least as much as) the Wolf Spider :-)

America
The Wolf Spider: found throughout the US (and the world).
Their eight eyes (including the two prominent large ones) have great vision- useful as they're hunters. They bite humans fairly rarely. Their bites may itch, but aren't dangerous
Do you like seeing creepy-crawlies, or do you prefer mammals & landscapes?
(& apologie...s to "Earth" subscribers for the 're-run.' I actually posted this over there by mistake!)Read More

A bunch of people messaged asking how to join the "Earth" page I posted yesterday. Sorry I was vague! This'll make it easy - just click below, then click "Become a Fan" at the top of the next page...
Again: it's an image a day of natural vistas. The membership's about 7% Americans, 93% International. Lots of languages i...n the comments!
Sorry 'bout the repost. We now return you to your regular programming...Read More

Thanks for being patient with this brief mention. And there's American Marten too, so there's a connection!

Lake St. Mary in Montana's beautiful Glacier National Park...
Do you have a favorite national park?

And last, I think I've (finally) figured out how to designate a picture that I've just posted to work with the "Share" button (you'd think it would be automatic, huh?)

America
Kudos & unending glory to the first person to correctly name the state where this photo was taken!
UPDATE: Sue Bione-Grevious was the first person to say "Oregon," Kelsey Marina Riddle was first to note specifically that it's the Chitwood Bridge. Unending glory to them both!

1st, sorry the badger picture posted twice yesterday. I have no idea why - I wasn't even online the second time!
2nd, thanks to all who reminded me of the "Badger Badger" song. For those who don't know it - it's silly, it's bizarre, and it's here: http://tr.im/ssYl
3rd, Oregon's awesome Multnomah falls.
What are the prettiest falls you've seen?

America
The American badger. Ours is one of eight distinctive badger species found throughout the world.
Have you ever seen one of these guys in the wild?
And who can name the state that has the badger as its official state animal?

Thanks to all who tested ShowingAmerica.com and our Facebook login there. Verdict - it's semi-working! Improvements to come...
And, sea lions sunning in Moss Landing, CA. Far from shy, some sea lions hang out on piers in big cities (e.g. San Francisco)!
Have you seen one in the wild, or in an urban habitat? Comment here, or at ShowingAmerica.com

If you have a moment, we'd love your help!
ShowingAmerica.com is a companion site we're testing, with the pictures we've posted here, but larger. More to come (we hope!)

Thanks for the help! And - the stunning Grand Canyon...
