Sibley Music Library Ever wonder what goes on in the bowels of Sibley’s Conservation Department? This Thursday afternoon, Oct. 29, from 5:30 to 7:30, the Conservation Department staff will hold an open house exposing the unspeakable horrors to which the library’s innocent scores and books are subjected in the name of Conservation. Come to ...Room 305 in Sibley. You will never look at a preservation photocopy the same way again.

I am amazed and thrilled by the information and catalogues available online - but I have been completely unable to locate something so simple as an email address or phone number to contact the library.
The policy on reproducing library material (specifically from the Ruth T. Watanabe Special Collections Dept.) is availa...ble online - once again, clear and helpful. Apparently I can request duplication of material (subject to certain limitations) "by telephone, email, fax, or U.S. Mail" at $0.25 per page for the copies. But nowhere can I find an email address or fax number to actually send in my request.
Help please!!

If this isn’t a digital sign of spring, I don’t know what is.
A world-class music library with an interactive web presence, i.e., a virtual “reading room”, is at once exciting, challenging, and daunting. If this new space gets much digital "foot traffic", congratulations; and best of luck with the as-of-now unknown chal...lenges and opportunities this may well bring.
Long before I had reason to re-locate to Rochester from NYC, I was interested in NYS's other great music library, primarily because of the Alexander Courage collection. It’s been a great pleasure to have this rich resource in my adopted backyard. And soon, a click away as well. - - - - ecs
