Hi Melissa. I’m a Mountain Vacation Specialist at Ski.com and was asked to share some thoughts with you.

The Resort at Squaw Creek is a fantastic hotel. You will love it! You feel very secluded but everything is right at your fingertips. The lift access is out the back door near the ski valet. There are some great food options within the hotel - you have to do the breakfast buffet at least once. Otherwise, the café is quick and easy. If you need transportation from the airport, the hotel does offer a private transport. Check into it because the transfer company from Reno can be a bit shaky. Another tip is the resort itself offers a shuttle for guests of Squaw to go either gambling or just out to dinner in Tahoe City and beyond. Definitely step out one night. There are some lovely restaurants on the lake and fun night spots to check out. Squaw is one of my favorite resorts for scenery, ski terrain and hotel ambience.

Please let me know if you need any help for a ski trip in the future. I would be happy to put together quotes that include things like discounted air, lodging, lift tickets, equipment rental, lessons, ground transportation and anything else you need during a mountain vacation. I can be reached at 1-800-525-2052 ext. 3670 or Cassandra@ski.com.... Read More

Have fun!

Hi. I’m a Mountain Vacation Specialist here at Ski.com and wanted to offer some tips.

With 190 miles of trails, 57 lifts a base elevation of 5,315 feet and a peak elevation of 12,795, Zermatt is huge. It’s surrounded by 29 peaks over 13,100 feet (including the famous Matterhorn), so the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Cars aren’t allowed in town, but you can get around the cobbled streets in sleighs pulled by horses. For lodging, I have always liked the Perren, an informal but traditional hotel just 400 yards from the lifts. It’s moderately priced and a great choice.

In Zurich, I enjoy the Walhalla Hotel, which is close to the train station and surrounded by first-class shopping. It’s only a minute’s walk away from the beautiful park of the Swiss National Museum and the Sihl and Limmat Rivers. Be sure to try the Weiner Schnitzel and fondue while in Zurich, two signature dishes of Switzerland.... Read More

If you have any questions or if you’d like to discuss putting a package together, please e-mail me at Bill@ski.com or call 800-525-2052 ext. 3692. I can take care of everything from air and lodging to rail transportation and lift tickets. I can also include a side trip extension if you choose to spend some time in Zurich. Keep in mind, flights are very reasonable right now, so it might be a good idea to book something soon.
