I was a Christmas Carol kid in so, so, so many ways. I have a lot of memories, but the best was when I got to be IN the play finally, as Martha Cratchit. I had seen the play so many times growing up that actually being in it was like being painted into your favorite piece of art. Being able to share the stage with my dad -he plays the Ghost of Christmas Past-was a priceless experience that can never be matched

I remember sitting in the rehearsal room for our first rehearsal, learning the Wassail song (which I STILL remember, 21 years later). I remember dancing with Anni Long in the Fezziwig party scene. I remember the actors who played my parents (I was Oliver Shelly) brought puppets on closing night and whenever Ebenezer Scrooge would yell at someone ... See Moreout the window, they'd be just offstage pranking Hal with these puppets, trying to get him to break character, but he was such a pro and never got distracted for a second. I remember feeling like I was one of the coolest kids in Orange County cuz I was in A Christmas Carol.
